Dallas Man Charged With Insurance Firm Robberies

October 22, 2013

Dallas police have arrested a man suspected of more than a dozen robberies at North Texas insurance businesses.

Dallas County jail records show 30-year-old Michael Cleveland was being held Monday on charges of aggravated robbery, possession of marijuana and driving with an invalid license.

No attorney was listed for Cleveland, whose bond was set at $101,000. Police say Cleveland was driving Saturday night when he was stopped and arrested after failing to use his turn signal. Investigators say the SUV matched a vehicle captured in surveillance video from some of the recent insurance business holdups – 13 in Dallas and two in Irving.

Dallas police in August asked for the public’s help in locating a gunman who walked into insurance firms and robbed the people of money.
