Oklahoma Attorney General Names Burnett Chief of Workers’ Comp Unit

Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt has named longtime prosecutor George Burnett as the new chief of the Workers’ Compensation, Insurance, and Social Security Fraud Unit.

The appointment was announced Monday. Pruitt says the attorney general’s office will benefit from Burnett’s experience and leadership.

George Burnett_BBurnett served as an assistant attorney general in the office’s Multicounty Grand Jury Unit for two years, prosecuting a wide range of crimes including murder, sex crimes, violent crimes, drug-related crimes as well as property and white collar crimes.

Prior to joining the attorney general’s office, Burnett served 26 years as an assistant district attorney in Oklahoma, McClain, Garvin and Blaine counties, including eight years as a team leader under former Oklahoma County district attorneys Bob Macy and Wes Lane.
