Oklahoma Government Agency to Hold Disaster Preparedness Workshop

The Oklahoma Municipal League will host a Disaster Preparedness Workshop later this month.

City, county, tribal and school officials will attend to learn how to be better prepared when disaster strikes. The workshop is scheduled Aug. 23 at Rose State College.

Attendees will hear from local, state and federal experts on topics including the need to plan ahead before disaster strikes. A panel discussion is also planned to emphasize the need for local governments to work together. It will include leading officials from counties, tribes, schools and cities.

Leaders from Moore, including the mayor, city manager, fire and police chiefs, Moore’s Community Development Director and Moore schools Public Information Officer, will also discuss their experiences following the May 20 tornado and efforts to be prepared for future events.
