More Charges Lodged in Louisiana ‘Chop Shop’ Bust

March 14, 2013

After discovering more car parts in a west Shreveport, La., warehouse on Monday, police have levied more charges against a man they say was the mastermind of a car chop shop operation that was the subject of a major bust last week.

The Times reports 30-year-old Alvin Lattier, of Shreveport, faces additional charges.

On March 8, officers responded to a warehouse after receiving a tip that car parts from a stolen vehicle were at the location. During the investigation, police found at least three vehicles that had been dismantled, in addition to several other automotive components that had their vehicle identification numbers removed.

State police were called in to help, which led to the identification of a number of the parts.

It was unclear whether Lattier has an attorney.
