Oklahoma County Seeks Wildfire Damage Estimates

The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office, in Oklahoma, is asking residents to report any damage to their property from last month’s wildfires.

Sheriff Joe Lester says anyone who saw property losses – to both structures and personal items – should report the damage to the sheriff’s office. The sheriff’s office says reports will be forwarded to the state fire marshal’s office.

Authorities say the reports will help determine the total property loss from the wildfires that burned from Aug. 3-5.

One woman was killed when the wildfires destroyed her home in Cleveland County.
