I continue to be amazed at the number of people that state you can ignite oxygen. This is incorrect as oxygen will not by itself burn. The hazard with oxygen is that a oxygen rich environment will cause the fuel to burn far stronger. You must though have a fuel source present in order for this to occur.

Ok Bob, so you are saying if I am in a closed room and open up an oxygen valve to saturate the air, and then I light a match…nothing will happen?

Another one for the “dumbass file”. 73 years old with a breathing problem and he still had to “light up”. Kind of poetic isn’t it? Our medicare tax dollars were paying to keep him alive so he could continue to smoke. His caring family will most likely sue the oxygen tank manufacturer and the service company that delivered it.
