Arkansas Court to Hear Arguments in Ticketmaster Case

The Arkansas Supreme Court is expected to hear oral arguments in the case of an Arkadelphia man who says he was charged nearly $50 in fees when he bought concert tickets.

Corey McMillian sued Ticketmaster and Live Nation last year after he purchased four tickets to see country singer Jason Aldean in concert. The state’s highest court is to hear oral arguments Thursday.

McMillan’s lawyers say the tickets should have cost $171. Instead, McMillan paid a total of $220.60 once the fees were tacked on.

McMillan’s attorneys are seeking class-action status in the case. They argue Ticketmaster is violating Arkansas’ law on deceptive trade practices.

Lawyers for Ticketmaster and Live Nation say the law doesn’t apply to them.
