3 Louisiana Volunteer Firefighters Booked in 11 Arsons

Three volunteer firefighters are in custody, accused of intentionally setting 11 fires in Livingston and Holden.

The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s office and Livingston Police said Friday that 17-year-old Adam Church was booked with 11 counts of simple arson, while 18-year-old Colin Davis faces four counts and 18-year-old Thomas Golder faces two.

State Fire Marshal Butch Browning says they’re accused of setting fire to structures, grassy areas, garbage bins and an earth-moving backhoe dating back to Feb. 28, 2010. Browning says the fires caused more than $100,000 in damage.

Davis and Golder were active members of Livingston Parish Fire District No. 6 Volunteer Fire Department; Church had been a junior firefighter until February. Investigators believe they set the fires so they could act as responders as part of those duties.
