2 Charged with Workers’ Comp Fraud in Oklahoma

September 19, 2011

The Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office has filed charges against two people accused of workers compensation fraud.

Attorney General Scott Pruitt says charges were filed Thursday against 50-year-old Raul Orozco of Perry and 49-year-old Zeina Khatib of Tulsa.

Orozco faces counts of workers’ compensation fraud and engaging in a pattern of criminal offenses for allegedly filing a fraudulent claim last year for on-the-job injuries. Investigators reviewed complaints and found probable cause that crimes were committed.

Khatib is charged with one count of workers’ compensation fraud. She filed a claim last year for injuries allegedly suffered when she fell at work. She claimed she hadn’t worked since, but investigators say they observed her working several times.

Online court records didn’t indicate if Orozco or Khatib had retained attorneys.
