    Making sure that you have reported any potential claim to the medical malpractice insurance carrier is extremely important so there isn’t any question when this situation comes up. (see http://www.equotemd.com/blog ) I know Medicus Insurance Company well and I am surprised they would do this unless they truly felt the doctor new that it was going to result in a claim and didn’t tell them. It appears the jury did not think the doctor new the patient suffered the injury. If a doctor knows about an incident that could turn into a claim they should report that to their current medical malpractice insurance company before they switch carriers.
