    Good Decision. Anyone who reads the definition of “malpractice” will know this isn’t it. Honest mistakes happen and this one wasn’t fatal. People need to understand doctors do their best for their patients and sometimes a mistake occurs. Nobody else on the planet is expected to operate on a 100% perfect standard; why should doctors?

    Sponge count is not typically the doctor’s responsibility.

    Yeah, it’s not the doctor’s fault his patient could have gotten a possible infection and died because of a silly sponge left sewn up inside him. Oh wait… Yes it is.
