This is about all the Environmentalists need to shut down future offshore drilling. Even though Obama came out and said he would allow some drilling, it wasn’t going to happen anytime soon. He wants to continue buying from his Muslim buddies in the Middle East instead of making America Energy self sufficient.

This disaster really drives home the point that we need to seriously explore and pour money into researching alternative forms of energy here in America. And I mean ALL alternative forms. It’s not rocket science, yet we always seem to make the same wrong decisions. Why?

You might be more sane AND concerned if you lived near the Gulf where there is now a 600 sq mi oil slick (think size of my town Dallas) threatening the Gulf Caost beaches–something like 43,000 barrels of toxic crude is polluting the entire body of water PER DAY with no end in sight. Exxon Valdez will look like a trash can tipping over in comparison. Not to mention, Mr. Political Agenda only, that dozens of workers DIED horrible deaths of fire and water. And mnore are risking their lives now.

I see the rightie, Rush-led, Fox-led race-baiting campaign of lies and Cheney-like FEAR is already well underway for 2010 election season. Note: Fox News is part of a FOREIGN owned corporation. Wake up and smell the mega-rich Aussies, dude!).

If you have racial fears involving Arabs and our dependence on them for oil thanks to BIG OIL (and BP, the rig operator, is a FOREIGN-owned firm, Mr. Fear and Ignorance, the same guys that let the Alaska pipeline corrode until it had to be closed for a good long while for repairs and the same guys whose penny-pinching plant management led to many fatalities in a plant explosion in Pasadena Texas in the recent past–but that’s just coincidence not a pattern of abusing the US and its citizens and workers like a third world nation), I suggest you vote for those who will replace this toxic, explosive substance with other more sensible fuels before we are all poisoned to death. Pushing current technology to and beyond its limit is going to lead to this over and over again–just like drilling off California so many years ago. It is not an Obama conspiracy thing, it is a good-old-fashioned Texas oil man conspiracy thing).

Incredible ignorance, incredible racism. You should be ashamed. Drill here? Drill now? Pick up an electric drill, place it on the side of your head and follow your own advice. The result will be the same, just quicker and we won’t have to listen to your ignorant ravings to support a rightie, corporate sponsored failed political agenda.

Blechhh!!! Go wash you mind out with soap.

That sounds all good, but if we stopped oil production today we would run out of plastics, and most things we use every day . we would go to our car or truck and the only thing wed see would be a frame and metal body and leather seats. The rest wouldnt be there. Dependence on oil for propulsion is small in fact. dependence on oil for everything else is huge. We do need an alternative energy source and our government should be offerring huge credits for companies doing that kind of research so someone will come up with something including oil companies. our government is not offerring anything but socialism. uggggg! not for me. Government also better wake up and smell the roses. The people of the United States put them there and will take them away in November.

SAND PUMPS. PUMP SAND FROM ANOTHER PART OF THE OCEAN FLOOR AND BUILD A MOUNTAIN OVER THE LEAK AREA. IT MAY NOT STOP THE LEAK COMPLETELY BUT IT WILL GIVE OIL RIGGERS TIME TO RELEIVE THE PRESSURE. ANOTHER WAY WOULD BE WITH CONCRETE IT WOULD BE MORE EXPENSIVE BUT ,I BELEIVE MORE EFFECTIVE.IM NOT AN ENGINEER SO THERE MAY BE A COMBINATION OF MATERIALS TOGETHER THAT WILL WORK. I ANY CASE WE ARE WASTING TIME SO LETS DO IT.
