    They only count those ‘actively looking for work’. That automatically excludes most of New Orleans’ population….

    What this article doesn’t mention are the number of people who left New Orleans after Katrina who didn’t return. Many ended up in Texas which has added to this states unemployment.

    this low figure is so bogus.. go there and try to find a job not working in a casino, gas station or restaurant. There are Orleanians who have been out of work for generations and that has not changed post Katrina. the Govt just stopped counting the perputally unemployed and part timers that want to be FT.
