Read “Food Inc.” or go see the movie. Poultry farms like these are a horrible mess and do pollute the surrounding areas as there is so much fecal waste that it cannot decompose quick enough and therefore runs off into the rivers and drinking water supplies.
Everyone start eating organic chicken and let’s all hope the AG wins.
Organic means they use all natural feed and do not inject the anumal with growth hormones and antibiotics. Organic results in having less animals for the space, which results in a more manageable amount of waste, thus resulting in less pollution.
Poop from organic chickens is healthier for us and does not contain fecal matter? Pretty ridiculous reach!
Have you ever seen a cage free operation? Give me my eggs and poultry from a caged operation where the poop falls away from the chicken and is carted away as soon as the bird poops.
The only difference in your ordinary everyday egg and your hyped up overpriced organic egg is a minimal amount of meat, fat, and/or bone based protein that is removed from the bird’s ration. This whole movement is a stealth effort by PETA and the Humane Society to have all of us become vegans.
Hey Al, saw the movie, amazing! We won’t eat certain foods or at certain places any longer. Purchased two copies as xmas presents to give to our kids! What a mess!
The line of reasoning that Al is using is indeed flawed!!! A person who eats an organic chicken is still eating a chicken. It pooped somewhere while it was alive…the phosphorous from the litter from that chicken winds up in the same places as the poop from other chickens. Phosphorous does not decompose so if every body ate organic chickens the phosphorous problem would still be the same…or worse because a organic chicken would take more lbs of feed to gain 1 lbs of weight. If you want to fix the problem figure out a way to get the chicken litter back to the corn fields where it came from so that it can be recycled. If you want to fix water quality issues though you need to start with city water treatment plants wich are 80%. Following Al’s line of reasoning we should ban people from living in high consentrations…but then who would vote for people like him???

Does organic chicken poop not create an environmental hazard?
