“No one realized how much risk this activity posed for children,” she said. “This wasn’t on anybody’s radar screen.”

I sure hope these medical “professionals” don’t live in a vacumn. This stuff is all over the place all the time. Are they just catching up?

or does what appears to be common sense in any other part of the country, requires close examination/intervention in LA.

Putting a kid on a 350cc quad or any other for that matter w/no prior education is just ignorant. Evidently down south, they’re too busy sleeping with their relatives to understand that.

Why can’t anyone focus on the root causes of problems. Stupid, negligent parents are the cause, not the ATV’s. Allowing children to drive them is gross negligence right out of the blocks. Not training and educating them isn’t far behind. This is not the state’s responsibility. I say let the natural selection process do it’s job.

ok, who was dumb first? the legislators or the parents?

parents are ultimately responsible and should be held accountable for any injuries their child receives due to their negligence. parent should not get an atv just because the neighbors have their kids on one. they should know that it is no different than riding a motorcycle with the amount of power an engine.

radar? everyone knew, they just did not care to give it a big picture.

it goes back to the basics! PARENTAL SUPERVISION! PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY!
