Will this also apply to the police?

Travelling down the interstate at 90 mph with a phone held up to their ear by their shoulder.

Sounds like they are going to have drivers use cell phones and text while driving so they can do the study.

    Doesn’t sound safe to me!

It’s not cell phones or texting….it’s plain old human ignorance, stupidity, lack of common sense, poor judgment, and disregard for the safety of others. The “instant gratification” generation has taken over the world and those who are supposed to know better continually fail to address the root cause. Want to stop cell phone usage and texting while driving? Then smack violators with a consequence that gets their attention. How about impounding their car for 30 days and make them pay the storage costs? Maybe then they’ll get the message. Passing bills to ban the behavior just doesn’t work.
