Rep. Smithee is from the other side of the state from the coast. His way of fixing things is to limit who can purchase a policy–only primary homes and no secondary residences. Duhh! The majority of homes along the beaches are secondary homes. There goes the real estate market and the new home market and the tax base in these counties. Sounds like an Obama fix from a so called Republican.
Smithee was the one that killed the statewide building codes saying West Texas doesn’t need the codes like the Coastal areas. Hay D A, you have more 70 and 80 mph winds than we do on the Coast, it is just that they give ours a name.
