OK, Arkansas is gonna ban cell phone useage. What about eating, talking to passengers, shaving, putting on makeup, doing hair, etc. None of these are more distracting than a phone call. I agree there should be restrictions on young drivers. I have a 16 yr old. I DO NOT want him texting and driving, although he could probably do that better than me. I’m not saying that using phones doesn’t cause accidents in some cases, but I know people that can’t drive even when they aren’t on the phone. What do we do about them?
I guess it means that if your teen drives around making s’mores over a fire on the dashboard it’s OK and no ticket will be issued. Distracted driving of ANY kind is dangerous and should be curbed. Busting cell phone users is fashionable but short sighted.
