ddDread, how could anyone answer questions related to hurricane IKE and provide any legal advice before disaster happened? Moreover, why would you call a proffecional firm such as Merlin Law Group “Scumbags”, no disrespect, but you make no sence sir. As my good friend always says “don’t hate the player hate the game”….

The firm is 100% legit and are perhaps the formost experts on such matters. You would be foolish not to attend, knowledge is power!

And I do NOT work for them!

I’m certain this firm will do this for free since they are such humanitarians.

These scumbags are mining business. Funny they didn’t offer this BEFORE the disaster.

Adjuster………thanks for pointing that out. I stepped into the “assumption” trap that the firm had ulterior motives.

I’m cynical when it comes to these law firms. The line up with seminars on the next big class action available and other lawsuit possibilities and most of this money goes to the attorneys rather than the parties harmed. I know a number of good and decent attorneys, I simply don’t believe that many of the large law firms are quite so altruistic as they would have you believe. I don’t know this firm so they may well be what you say. I just have a hard time believing them any more.

Maybe if the majority of the CAT teams in Texas had competent people handling claims, law firms wouldn’t need to be doing this. But I can tell you the Texas FAIR Plan and TWIA have been horrible, not to mention lots of private companies that are nickel and diming every single thing on a claim. It’s been horrible for an agency standpoint. I don’t write policies anymore, I’m the clean up crew now for incompetent claim departments for a lot of companies I have written policies through.

I agree with the fact that there are many “large firms” that promise the world and charge a large fee, sometimes half the fee, I hate that as well. However, personally, since unfortunatly I am not a lawer and would not be able to represent my self or my clients in any litigation, I believe that paying even 50% to your counslor is better than getting nothing.
I have attended number of seminars like windstorm network, napia and fapia and many others were Chip Merlin trained adjusters and it was great, very educational and by the way it was FREE as promised….
    Kind Regards,
    Dimitry Manasov a.k.a. Adjuster =)
