So he loses his license and has to pay back only 8% of the amount he stole and serves no jail time. Not a bad profit!

I am shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, to hear of corruption in Louisiana! Why, the state is the very birthplace of integrity! $310,000: at least the crime wasn’t for chump change.

This has got to be the most screwed up state in the nation. Not only is it bulging with corruption from the insurance commissioners on down, but it’s the true example of “crime does pay!” No wonder the overall state population has been going down for years.

Seems as if we have seen several articles about insurance agents in the Baton Rouge area who have been guilty of the same variant of this crime. What is it with those folks? Are they carpet baggers who came south after Katrina or are they locals trying to make good?

I feel bad now for the Louisiana folks, we are just piling on here. Can they truly all be so crooked?

Let me issue a heart-felt apology to all from Louisiana, including insurance agents and public officials. If I have impugned anyone from Louisiana of being corrupt who is not actually corrupt then I am truly sorry!

I did not see any mention of restitution so the assumption of a profit seems a little presumptious.

Also, I did not see any mention of the home state of any of the Louisiana bashers. I am sure that nothing like this goes on in their home states.

Its easy throw out insults when you are protected by anonymity.

Try Webster’s dictionary if you have trouble with any of the words here.

Ouch Texas! For the record, I am from Washington State. We do NOT have nearly the level of corruption in either the insurance industry or in public office I regularly observe in Louisiana. It isn’t that it doesn’t happen, it just doesn’t rise to the level of commercial enterprise it seems to be in Louisiana, judging from the court record.

I repeat: if I have accused anyone in Louisiana of being corrupt who isn’t actually corrupt; I heartily apologize!

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I was reading all the actions being taken by the Washington State insurance commissioner for fraud and other offenses. Guess there is a need there for a commissioner after all.
