THIS COMPANY PRIDES ITSELF ON THE INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR RELATIONSHIP IT HAS WITH ITS AGENTS AND HOW IT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS. THEY HAVE PICKED THEIR OWN AGENTS APART FINANCIALLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS ALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY FOR MANY YEARS, THOSE THAT ARE AWARE OF HOW THEY TREATED THEIR OWN AGENTS WOULD PROBABLY CALL IT THEFT ON THE PART OF AMERICAN NATIONAL. THIS ARTICLE INSINUATES THAT THE CLIENTS INTEREST IS AT HEART. IT IS MY OPINION THAT THIS ACTION BY AMERICAN NATIONAL WAS TAKEN BECAUSE THEY DID NOT WANT TO LOSE ANOTHER LAW SUIT LIKE THEY DID A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO FOR “STEALING” ANOTHER COMPANY’S BUSINESS, I THINK THEY LOST A JUDGEMENT FOR OVER $60 MILLION FOR “STEALING”, THEMSELVES. KINDA IRONIC HOW THEY ARE A VICTIM OF THEFT THEMSELVES AND ALSO WHY YOU WOULD PAY FOR AN INDEPENDENT CONTRATACTOR’S CRIME. FUNNY HOW WHEN IT’S ONE INDEPENDENT CONTRACTED AGENT INVOLVED AMERICAN NATIONAL CAN STEAL ALL THEIR BUSINESS AND LEGALLY GET AWAY WITH IT, BUT WHEN 75 CONSUMERS ARE INVOLVED ITS TREATED MORE LIKE AN EMPLOYEE/EMPOYER RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THEM AND THE AGENT. I AM SORRY THE CONSUMERS WERE RIPPED OFF, IT WAS WRONG, BUT AMERICAN NATIONAL IS DOING WHAT IT HAS TO DO , AND PRETENDING THEY CARE. GOD BLESS ALL PARTIES INVOLVED, MAY THEY ALL BE FORGIVEN, AND THE PEOPLE THAT HAD THEIR HOMES AND PROPERTY DAMAGED OR DESTROYED BE BACK TO NORMAL SOON.

I think this can be summed up this way… look at the bottom of the article:

“Source: American National Insurance Company, http://www.anico.com/

Of course it insinuates ANIC was nothing but a caring, innocent bystander in this matter. I know nothing of the incident, but I could imagine how the article may be just a little bit biased, considering the source.

you can look in the Southwest archives below and read how they used this “Profiling” / “trade secret” to steal from their own agents in a very unjust manner for years. In 2007 American National Multiline Agents rebeled against management and this legal way to steal was stopped, but not before many individuals that thought this company offered a great opportunity were financially raked over the coals.
