I really appreciate your article on crane safety in Texas. I have made quite a few posts on my blog site – horsesensesafety.blogspot.com – concerning the many crane incidents around the country this year. One of the things that I am concerned about is the lack of TRAINED Operators, Supervision and Riggers working with crane operations.

It appears that OSHA will take at least two more years before updating the 1971 standards on cranes. Therefore, I have been advocating that State OSHA programs and Contsruction Companies seek out agencies near them to have the aformentioned people trained at one of the many Crane Training and Certification companies and be fully assured that their operations are within the current Horse Sense Safety methods.

This training will most likely be almost identical to the new OSHA Standards when they finally are approved.

    Thanks again for your article.
