You are the one who doesn’t know what you’re talking about. We do have people who rob banks and commit crimes down here just to get treatment they can’t afford on their own. 56 year old man, lost his job (after 19 years) 8 months before, diagnosed with cancer robbed a bank – cops found him sitting outside with the money. He needed chemo and surgery and couldn’t afford it. He’ll be released in 7 years and his prognosis is good. How sad is that? I believe we should take the money we are spending on convicts and spend it on the unfortunate law abiding citizens.

As far as constitutional rights? Sorry, you step on someone else’s constitutional rights, you should forfeit any rights you think you have. I’m very pro-mandatory sentences and pro-death penalty. That sheriff in Az has it right. The one that feeds them bologna, makes them watch religious channels, (did you know cable TV is one of these ‘rights’ you say they should have?) and makes them actually WORK while they’re incarcerated.

Just like Mitchell Johnson- he killed 4 kids and the system decided to take care of him and release him. Look where it ended up. Exactly where a majority of murderers that are set free end up. Planning to kill more people. Why were his civil rights more important then his next victims?

You are really showing your intelligence, Mary. If someone doesn’t agree with you send them off to a communist country that I love so much. You are advocating exactly what people under tht type of rule tried to escape, no rights, no medical treatment, no oversight. I guess when you maroon me to one of these communist countries that I love so well, maybe they could beat me and break my arms while they or at it. Heck, let’s just shoot all lawbreakers, then we wouldn’t have to worry about prisoner’s rights.

Talk about your own fears. Communism is just the latest ‘catch-phrase’ for anyone that doesn’t agree with you.

If I’m a communist because I don’t want murderers, pedophiles, and the like being given free school, free cable, free medical, free dental, then being released, fine. I believe that people should take the consequences of their actions. And obviously, given the sharp rise in violent crime in this country, our current ‘consequences’ are a joke.

I’d rather see that money put towards health care for seniors that can’t afford their meds, or straight “A” students go to college. Where it would benefit people who have honestly worked and NOT BROKEN THE LAW.

You’re entitled to your opinion, as am I. I will not feel sorry for someone who hurt innocent victims if they can’t get their teeth fixed. Or if the can’t get their meds. Or if they can’t watch Oz. Or had to eat bologna everday of their sentence.
