If 7 years ago, Clinton had let us drill in other places besides the wetern Gulf, then this storm would not have any effect. Tourism is down greatly in Florida. Key West has been almost dead this summer. Maybe, if FL let us drill off their coast, then there would be more oil (at a price cheaper than Saudi sells it) to put in cars that people drive on vacation.

Actually why didnt Bush 1 allow drilling in Florida??

Also, remember, the Republicans are saying that any new oil that is drilled off our shores will just go into the overall supply – Thus it really wouldnt change the price much here in the US, but god if there was ever a spill, it would kill Florida

    Is it worth it???????
