I’m sick and tired of Louisiana and its constant begging for federal handouts for its pathetically irresponsible residents. Like wudchuck, I’m opposed to socialism and having the government take care of every idiot who can’t or won’t invest a few bucks to protect their property. The state is a loss leader….it should be turned into a National Park. New Orleans is below sea level and NOTHING will stop another hurricane from repeating the Katrina two step. Then what? Billions more to fight a losing battle to keep the sea out? The government of LA is inept, incompetent, and has done nothing to fund it’s own problems. If it weren’t for the decrepit french quarter and the ailing Mardi Gras festival, New Orleans and LA wouldn’t be on the map.

I agree with Wudchuck and Dread. I suggested the National Park idea a few years back. Anyway, can the other 49 states elect to kick LA out of the 50 United States? We could still keep the 50 and bring in either Purto Rico or Mexico….yes, I said Mexico. They’re hard workers, who actually work. If their house were destroyed, they’d have their whole family there rebuilding it, not asking for Federated handouts.

I agree with the rest of you. Stupid me, I thought the Louisiana Purchase was a great deal for us. Face it my friends, the French got the best of that arrangement…
