I am going to fix the last paragraph of the article to make it correct

The Welfare system and entitlement programs is counterproductive, Duval said, because it negates incentives for working and supporting yourself and creates an environment where “gross laziness and perceived entitlement receives the same treatment as honest people who are willing to work for a living.”

Congratulations for serving in the role of toruturer of our body politic as part of the continuing shock treatment of New Orleans. Destroy the role of government or belief in it so a few can make breathtaking disaster capitalism profits on the blank slate of devastated New Orleans. Go suck on a taser, bro.

What a deluded chump you are!

    Blame those victims!

Have a good weekend sniffing drainpipes. I hear Cheney is looking for a new bathroom attendant now that the Scoot has gone missing.

business? Look what a great job they did with piles of dirt. At least if one feels they got the short end of the contract with their insurer, they can go to court for a remedy. Unless its the government, that is. Remember, more government bad, less government good!

Its us, the good old USA, for signing up to rebuild that suckhole. So tell me, City of New Orleans, what do we do when it happens again? Rebuild it again? Only in America would fools continue a failed experiment – build 20 feet below sea level between a river, an ocean and a wetland. Only in America are we wealthy enough to throw good money after bad, over and over. If you think an anonymous poster, Compman, is your torturer, you must have lost your sense of smell. From what I hear and read the smell of sewage in your fair city might be far more torturous than Compmans opinion.

You are right, let’s rebuild Iraq, and other countries, we don’t need to take care of our own people! Let’s re-evaluate where the real smell of sewage is!

What does Iraq have to do with New Orleans? What’s the connection?

Ha, I laugh at your liberal bleeding heart views!. Why didn’t all these people have flood insurance? Why, because they all thought the Gov’t would take care of them!. Sorry, we have too much government the way it is. Time to get back to old times where people had to work for a living instead of sucking on the government teet. Personal responsible has been thrown out the window with “it’s someone elses fault” as the mantra for many people. Sorry, I have no sympathy for those who refuse to think and take care of themselves. I live 75 feet from water, guess what, I have flood insurance. I know better. I also protect my assets with high umbrella limits as well. I am not depending on the federal government for a handout. So City of NO, if you feel so bad for your entitlement crazed breathen, feel free to send them some of your money. My guess is it would actually be my money as I am sure you are on the government teet as well.

somewhere there is a reasonable chance it won’t get flooded again. What if, gasp, Gorebal warming ever gets off the ground?
A lot of people have invested a lot of money in that project, and want it to happen. And if it does, we may see rising sea levels. Combine the planned rising sea levels scheduled for Gorebal warming with poor substrate that causes levees to fail and eureka! same problem as before. Even a C student should understand the folly of building a shack, no neighborhood, no city in a swamp. Pray that the Gorebal warming doesn’t pick up more investors or we’re all
    skewered.

Ah, but if we don’t put NO right back where it was, the terrorists win! And Bush will make your baby stupid! And . . . and . . . and.

Face it, this is one of the rare times the French were smarter than the rest of us. They build on the highest ground they could find. I realize we did a bunch of stuff to NO to make it a major port, but get over it. Let it stay under water – where it belongs. Building below sea level right next to the freakin’ ocean is just plain stupid.

Oh, and RAL, Iraq is no better an investment. No matter how much money we spend there we’ve pissed too many people off.

Here’s a brilliant idea. Use the billions being spent on both projects to balance the budget and get government to live within its means. Scary thought, I know.
