The Ethics board goes after this but wont dare touch a state official for trading state favors for ins policies. Go figure. Only in La.

Having consulted for a variety of clients domiciled in LA for the past 20+ years, it is my opinion that going hunting in LA is comparable to attending a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden. It is the thing to do with family, friends, colleagues and business associates.

Every state in the Union needs to revisit and revise the dollar amount of its “acceptable expenditures”.

In New York City, DC, Los Angeles and other high priced cities, a business person cannot even extend the courtesy of buying breakfast or lunch for a government employee or government leader. An iced tea, ceasar salad, decent sandwich, tax and tip can be $50.

Joe, you’re right. Very soon only people with nothing at all to lose because they haven’t made anything for themselves in life, will seek public office.
For the shallow people out there, people with nothing to lose rarely are class individuals. In other words, losers (already) will be the only people running for public office- a downward spiral.
Didn’t used to be like this but now when no one takes responsibility for their own actions, we’ve lowered standards everywhere.
