    The SCRS survey rated how shops view insurers. The categories reported in the survey were something like:

    Partner
    Customer
    Benign
    Doesn’t Matter
    Evil Empire

    or words to that effect, and a fraction of respondents chose the worst category. The vast majority, way more than half (I didn’t keep a copy) rated carriers as either a partern, customer (the largest category) or benign.

    If shops spent as much time marketing their businesses and becoming more efficient as they do whining about insurance companies, they would be better off to say the least.

    There is a surplus of shops today amounting to at least 25%. The whiners are the ones that won’t be around in fifteen years, if not sooner.

    Who is he kidding. He can charge whatever he wants or what the market can bear. No one forced him into a direct repair relationship with carriers. In fact the only reason he had 18 shops to begin with was the relationship he had with the auto carriers. Sounds more like sour grapes over his own fiscal mismanagement than any evil empire insurance cabal

    Really. Why not sell them? Why close up shop? Why not just close the unprofitable ones and sell the rest? He had a lengthy article in Collision Week blaming insurance company DRP programs for not letting him make money, as if they had guns to his head.

    i’ll bet none of these responses are from a body shop owner so i guess they have no idea what we go through
