That’s New Orleans mayor and police officials at work for themselves and NOT for YOU!

“Cynthia Sylvain-Lear, New Orleans’ deputy chief administrative officer, said it wasn’t reasonable to maintain full coverage on all city buildings before Katrina because they weren’t all in areas prone to flooding.”

??? In a city below sea level isn’t every area prone to flooding ???

Give me a break… the city didn’t want to budget the money for the coverage.

Nope, FEMA does not put all areas in a flood plain, which is beyond my understanding. Some areas that flooded in Katrinia are still not in a flood plain. Go figure!

The last time I looked at a fllod map of New Orleans I thought that the entire city was included. I do know and understand that some areas impacted by Katrina are not shown on in a flood area, but I am pretty sure that all of the city was. Am I wrong in this assumption?

DWT, I am not sure about Orleans Parish, but my daughter has a home in St Bernard, was a no flood zone, flooded with 6′ of water, still not in flood zone. The mortgage co does not require flood insurance. She has obtained Preferred Risk.
