Brockelman should be summarily dismissed along with his IT staff. Why is it when it comes to governmental snafus nobody is ever held accountable and nobody gets fired? Strategic Business Solutions should be sued for a flawed system design. Looks like locals have botched a critical business process and now they want more money to mis-handle. I’m sure they’ll get it. The idiot Mayor gets re-elected for botching the Katrina response and the Governor hasn’t been heard from since. Why will arbitration over a flawed software product take a year?
Arbitration used to be faster and cheaper than litigation, but my recent experience is that neither is true any longer. Add to that the potential for the arbitration panel to act arbitrarily (pardon the pun) and no rights of appeal – and it’s now a lousy way to resolve disputes. I’ll take the court system any time.
This same sort of thing happened with my water bureau a few years ago. We spent millions installing a system that mis-billed everyone and they want millions more to get a new system. There had been nothing wrong with the billing system prior to the first snafu. I wonder who got the kickbacks?
Not that I disagree with your underlying sentiment; but I’m pretty sure Brockelman only arrived at La CPIC a few weeks ago. I don’t think he’s not been there long enough to bear the “good old boy” blame.

According to my research the company is owned by Dean Majoue. That is meaningless to me since I am not from that area, but someone may know him.
Follow the Money, youll find out what you wanting to know.. Who owns the supplier of the software? Anyone know?
