LA has long had a history or rampant corruption in the political process.

It’s a sad day when a state like LA has a higher set of ethics and standards than any other state much less one like Florida which has one of the wealthiest populations in the country.

Florida’s plan of forcing a free market collapse and forcing a National solution so they don’t have to fix it it type of situation that creates political unrest for the entire country. They are a shameless and unethical state.

Governor Crist, to his credit, wants to fix the problem for the good of the people of FL. Unfortunately it seems as if he is attempting to fix the problem by shoving a solution down the throats of all companies in the state.

This is just my opinion and not based on any extensive research, but I believe that a tough guy approach is less persuasive than a broad based appeal to the industry to help the citizens of FL to find a solution. It just seems like that from day 1 Crist was attempting to force a solution (lower prices or else) upon the industry rather than working with them and consumer groups to form a long-term insurance strategy that helps industry understand that the state considers Risk Management to be a top priority and wants recommendations from industry officials on what it can do to improve the situation.

FL is in dire straits. Crist should step forward and lead positively. The governor’s office should request ideas from the citizenry and consider the most reasonable options in addition to their own policies. Its my opinion that Crist needs help and he should be willing to hear more suggestions on how to solve FL’s problems.
