I have been raised and lived in La. for 40 yrs. I moved after the hurricane\’s b/c of ignorant lawmakers from La. I am in the insurance business. I have been in the business for 12 yrs as an adjuster to claims manager. The state is in denial and the lack of qualified lawmakers is the major reason companies including insurance companies don\’t want to come to La. to do business.
First the state doesn\’t get the incoming companies enough tax incentives. Then if the company does come in on a pilot type program the trial lawyers eat the companies alive. Then you have notorious judges who give oulandish rewards for frilous claims.
La. is the laughing stock of all the states beside Ms. Its a shame b/c La. has so much culture and heritige that it was a hard decision to move away, but it was the right one. SAD!!!!
