Gee, not enough inspectors, so they can\’t live up to a building code? Ever hear of hiring more? How about this – raise local taxes a penny so the county can meet more payroll. What a lousy excuse…and these will be the same people to complain when there is an insurance availability problem. Speak about not seeing beyond the end of your nose…..

This just shows how much our \”representatives\” do research. First of all, all CBO\’s at the first of the year based their prices upon all the hype. They did not know how much this was going to cost etc. Those numbers had to come from somewhere, right? Prices have went down by a couple thousand for new construction. Trailers are way well below that, way under $500. And you know what else, the CBO\’s are not very busy.
Yes, the cost was very high in the beginning, but just like gas prices, it changed, and in the opposite way of gas prices. People will do as little as possible to get by. People do not want to go through the steps of COMPLYING with building codes. It\’s a bunch of little bellyachers and whiners running to their representative telling horror stories. I\’m so sorry it takes a little more intelligence to comply with the UCC.
This will also add a few more jobs to the market, well with prices as low as they are, I doubt it would be a good living. But hey, that\’s the great state of Louisiana.

Anyone else ready for New Orleans and LA in general to look in the mirror and say, \”Maybe I am the problem\”.

Maybe it\’s time to elect someone who will run the city and state like a business and make good decision on how to spend taxpayer $$$.

The city and state have been under the rule of one political party for 50+ years, with Billions and Billions of $$ allocated for infrastructure both before and after Katrina.

Everyone is so quick to \”blame\” Bush, that no one takes the time to figure out how a city full of people in the USA in the 21st century are so dependant on the Government.

What are they doing with ALL THE MONEY allocated for rebuilding? If it was Dallas, TX the city would be rebuilt already.

That is the problem \”ALL THE MONEY\” \”allocated\”! Where is the actual money? State has to match the FEDS 10% and don\’t have the $$$. Can\’t do anything with promises.
