Insurance Companies Have Denied Katrina Claims or paid very little.
Not one of the Insurance Companies even tried to help their Katrina Clients.
They took forever to pay if they did pay then raised the rates.
Now they are harassing clients with drive by inspections and threatening to cancel their policy unless they send a Contract from a Contractor or file for a building permit.
It would have been thoughtful for the Industry to Contact the Insured with tips like file for a permit now…while it is free.
That would have been too generous for an industry that eats their own.
No one offered living expenses, they swept that benefit under the carpet.
The few Homeowners that requested living expenses were paid a small portion from a benefit that was average of $40,000.
What did LA do to protect the residents?
The opposite of what Mississippi did.
LA is Offering $100 Million to the Insurance Industry, as incentive to stay in LA or come to LA, so they can sell more
false policy. Go figure!
Road Home is stealing minimum of $20,000 for Elevation Benefits. Sneaky Tactic!!!!
They appraise your home lower than the actual value;
then offer $20,000 in ELevation Benefits; if you do not elevate your home,
they keep your $20,000.
If you use the $20,000 with along with your ICC in your flood policy,
THEY WILL CONSIDER THIS
A DUPLICATION OF BENEFITS.
Chase Bank will come back to these people at a later date then demand $20,000 or will gladly finance with another one of their Special Interest Deals,
or place a lean on the home.
Average Bids to raise homes now @ minimum of $50,000, for one inch.
If you did not have flood, then you do not qualify for this elevation grant; but
you will then be penalized 30% for not having flood insurance.
They take another 30% here.
Almost 2 years since Katrina, few people received grant money and they say they are running out of money.
They made millions in interest by keeping this money for almost 2 years.

LA Contractors Review Board Makes A profit each time they bust a contractor for fraud. They fine him & release him;
only to make additional profits when he is reported again.
They do nothing to help the victim and will not offer advice, legal, civil or criminal.
