    clr,

as usual, you, as most republicans have again missed the boat. you should check out some poll numbers before you start mouthin\’ off. kerry\’s numbers, even though he has about as much charisma as a rock, are still higher than bush. and as far as serving, yes i did. funny how you republicans always have an excuse for not going…whether it be a boil on your *** or just plain cowardous. it\’s funny how you would bring up what i\’m sure is by your definition sexual definiancy. i suppose you\’re right…it much worse to have sex with an intern than 13 year old boys in florida. oh, is that off limits…how about taking bribes from defense contractors, oh, is that off limits, how about outing a cia agent, oh, is that off limits…funny that you republicans always talk about bill having some sex with monica, or your supposed family values when virtually all your leaders have either been indicted or are under investigation. oh wait…that\’s the liberal media, right???? but, you\’ve had complete power for the last 6 years…correct me if i\’m wrong, but when did cnn become the ethics commity. you republicans are all the same. you talk about your values, you talk about personal responsiblility, you talk about national defense, but what have you done to secure our borders…nothing. what have you done to make iraq secure…nothing. what have you done to make our nation less dependent on foreign oil…nothing. face it, you\’ve had 6 years to push your agenda, and you haven\’t done ****. you can\’t even make abortion illegal even though you have appointed 2 justices that are as conservative as the day is long. when push comes to shove, you are as impotent as the democrats. you talk a good game, but all you have accomplished is many upon many deaths of not only the people of this country who go to fight, but the poor iraqi people. you are the lowest of individuals on this planet because you sit in your chair and make decision without even helping even one person out. I seriously doubt you\’ve ever went to a soup kitchen or donated to charity…but oh, that\’s right, the free market will take care of all our woes. when the darkness comes to you, i hope that taking stock of your life will not depress you, and that whatever you see at that moment will, in your mind, be the light. hold on to your thoughts that even though you cursed bill clinton for the 18 armed services members that died in somalia, you can praise george bush for the 3000 that have died in iraq. unfortunately, even though you are the lowest common denominator in our society, you will live a better life than most.

    Milton Friedman said so.

Why are these people looking to the government for help? Let the free market take care of it. Sell the interstates all to Spain\’s Cintra as toll roads as they did with the Indiana Tollway.

The roads are unsafe because that\’s what the free market says–it doesn\’t need \’em, except maybe a high quality east west I-10 tollway to move things through that nasty state that is in the way.

OK, you disciples of free markets–now array your rows of angels on the heads of pins and explain it all away with your magic dogma of \”free\” markets.

Those people thar aint like me and I aint paying for none of their roads and thet\’s thet…

It\’s really sad, but for many many many years their Highways have sucked! I drove truck from 88-93 & everytime I went through that state it was BC Powder & a good stiff drink to ease some of the back pain that came with the drive as soon as I could get through the state. 55 had to be the worst too!

No one in LA has ever done anything about it before & the ones that came after (who are in a position to allocate) are just sitting on their A$$es & twiddling their thumbs or vice versa. It\’s a never ending story… Just be sure that you have muscle relaxers or pain pills when you finally make it to the other side of the state if you ever have to travel through it.

Oh, the part about it being Bush\’s fault again… it just has to be… they blame him for everything else!!!! What would make you think this is any different? He should have fixed their roads 25 years ago…

    GOD BLESS TEXAS!

While I\’m not surprised they found this in LA., is it surprising a group backed by heavy equipment manufacturers and road building companies would find problems with the roads and bridges??

Good to see that you don\’t disappoint, or for that matter, make a point, Media.

I agree, we should take the government out of the road business (since it was the Raw Deal, sorry New Deal) that gave us the interstate system. You have made you own argument in the first paragraph of your diatribe. Let\’s face it; business is out to make money for the shareholders, governments only wants to line its own pockets…

My state turned the toll roads private, and kept them in US control and we don\’t have these problems anymore on the privately held toll roads.

Which brings me to the point of problems? How is it, and I hope that you can set the record straight for us Media, that in a liberal utopia like LA that we have any problems at all? The liberals have run the place, into the ground, for more than 40 years, how can there be any problems there? Answer, a socialist leaning government which you want and love.

But they don\’t work either do they??? Let\’s look at the long list of socialist experiments that succeeded: The Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, and Socialist Italy. Why, all fine examples on the success of Socialism…

CLR…your an idiot. How many purple hearts does a democrat need to win to get respect? I\’m curios as to how many metals you\’ve been awarded…oh, or are you one of the vast list of Republican chicken hawks who never once served your country in uniform. Rush, Dick, Donald, George…need I go on. Oh, and you agents that think the free market will take care of everthing, give me a break. Yeah, there\’s never been a bad decision made by a company or industry, has there? There\’s never any collusion. There\’s never been a scandal that business has caused (Tyco, Enron, S&L). Oh, and as far as socialist societies go…how about China. Are they still around, I can\’t remember. The problem is that most agents (and I have to assume that most of you are) are so obsessed with money that they think the free market is the answer for everything. Try picking up a copy of the wealth of nations and give it a read. Free market does not work for every situation.
