I say if you want to live in an area that is subject to severe weather, then you gotta pay the price to insure your stuff!
Then I say to the cities that are looking for peole to come live there & run the business, then you need to pay them according to their location… Quitcherbitchin & take a reality pill so that you will make an informed decision about where you want to live & how many times in your lifetime you want to re-build!

To you who said “quitcherbitchin”. For some of us who live on the southern LA coast, this wasn’t a choice. The coastal erosion has made the hurricane impacts way worse than it used to be. I was born and raised here. I am 25 years old now with a family, and I have been trying to leave this place since I was 19. It’s a lot harder than you think to just get up and go. It’s not cheap to move and with the rising cost of insurance prices, who can save to do such a thing. I make pretty good money and it is still a work in progress, I can’t imagine what it’s like for those living on fixed incomes. I pay $5000 dollars for flood and homeowners and they still want to raise that.
