HDI, when setting this up please contemplate how to handle car dealers. The cars they drive are \”open\” titles and have not been individually registered. So, there needs to be an alternate way of reporting.
Also, we have the one man, or mom and pop
service station that also does
inspections. Depending on the cost of the
equipment for each inspection station, it may put them out of the inspection business.
I do understand what you mean, it seems as
if \”big\” is replacing small all the time.
However I live in a rural where there are only 2 vehicle inspection places at all!
One IS a mom and pop station, the other is a 2 man operation. Our little town would hate to lose either one.
Dealer fleets don\’t have insurance on each individual vehicle, anyway. They have a blanket policy covering all the vehicles.
And, dealer vehicles are \”untitled vehicles\” now, so there more than likely won\’t be a need to have them in the database. More than likely, this will be a database of titled vehicles.
Your comments understood by me, but there are several states that did not contemplate this when they made their switch. Many states have a mess on their hands and the carriers/producers take the blame from the consumers because of the DMV(s)incompetence.

Horrors, I would hate to see either one of the mom & pop shops go out of business.
I\’m just being a smart aleck as I really like mom & pop shops but you do get my drift.
