Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Companies named Mike Gerik as head of its Texas insurance operations. Gerik was promoted to executive vice president of the Texas Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company and vice president/state manager of the Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company.

Gerik, a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor’s degree in management. A native of the town of West, Texas, he has worked with Farm Bureau since 1980, most recently serving as vice president of the Texas Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company.

“Our goal is to provide quality insurance services and products for our members,” Gerik said. “We need to build on our already strong financial position, positioning on our company to serve our member’s needs now and in the future, while still supporting the core values of the parent Farm Bureau organization.”

“We also want to continue to be the leader in Texas in providing the agricultural community with quality insurance products. Meeting the needs of the agricultural producer is a very high priority for us,” he said.

Texas Farm Bureau and Affiliated Companies Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer Vernie Glasson said, “Mike brings a strong Farm Bureau insurance background to this key position. Texas Farm Bureau Insurance is entering a critical time in our history as we position ourselves for growth and improve service to members.”

Gerik’s career started in policy services in 1980. He later moved to underwriting in 1985, research and development in 1988, vice president of administration in 1995, and vice president of policy services in 2000.
