I purchase insurance in La. I want the commissioner to be an advocate for the people not the insurance industry. Mr. Cain has already been \”duped\” by the industry into passing legislation designed to protect the industry. When funeral homes wrote burial policies listing services rendered and a low face amount inadequate to cover listed services, Mr. Cain came to the industries rescue by passing legislation designed to enforce the face value and require consumers to pay extra costs. When confronted he stated he was duped by the industry into passing the legislation. Any 1st year lawyer will tell you that sufficiency of a contract is not enforced by the court. If the funeral homes made a mistake then they should pay for their mistake as should anyone else. Can Louisiana afford Mr. Cain\’s wreckless actions?
