This just makes me MAD. I have paid for homeowners insurance and yes, flood insurance if I was in a flood plain. Would someone please tell me why? If the uninsured are going to be taken care of by my tax dollars, why would I be so stupid as to pay premium dollars for insurance? I feel for these people, I really do but I am just so sick and tired of bailing people out that won\’t take responsibility for their actions. Knowing that you are in a flood plain and don\’t take out flood insurance??? – give me a break!!!

I agree with MAD. If we provide flood coverage to people who didn\’t purchase any, what\’s to keep people from filing claims on any uninsured loss and receiving some form of compensation-courtesy of the taxpayers. I think the mortgage lenders should be held accountable and pay the damages- or
weren\’t they aware these homes were located in a high risk area from flooding?
    I DON\’T THINK SO!
