La. Workshops Look to Make Homes More Hurricane Resistant

Louisiana residents will reportedly benefit from workshops designed to protect homes against future hurricanes.

The workshops, offered free by the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in partnership with home improvement centers, will discuss building techniques to make homes more hurricane resistant.

“These workshops, led by FEMA mitigation experts, will discuss the two critical areas of wind and flood hazards,” said Scott Wells, the federal coordinating officer. “Everyone is invited and we urge everyone to attend, including homeowners, building contractors, architects.”

Two initial workshops will be held:
