Who’s going to go in and change them? Great, put them in but better be back quarterly to check on the batteries otherwise WOW what an assumed liability.

What is going to happen when the grand kids remove the battery for their eletronic whatever? There are more battery minus smoke detectors in Dallas apartments than you can count.

Can’t tell you how many times I get underwriter recommendations for prop managers to have smoke detectors installed, only to have mgrs counter that the batteries “disappear” quickly so what’s the sense in installing them in the first place? Maybe the old folks won’t have the same problem, but I wouldn’t bet the house on it. And it’s not like anyone is hard-wiring the installaiton.
