Allstate’s ALE isn’t subject to a deductible Too bad for State Farm customers. Should have shopped around and got a lower rate with Allstate with better ALE coverage.

A claim without a deductible doesn’t exist. Mark, reread your policy. But I agree taking it out at the back end is more humane than taking it at the front end.

my state farm adjuster tells me that sate farm will not cover my refrigerator, but the contents of the frig will be covered. since the refrigerator is a content of my home, why on earth is it itself not covered? also,my home has roof damage, the adjuster is willing to pay for only half the cost of the roof. i find this disconcerning considering that i have a whole roof on my house.

You should have asked that of the adjuster before you let him get away.

Does anybody have any info on whether or not Allstate has to reimburse ALE? The first time I spoke with an adjuster in December, she told me Allstate was waiting on a decision to be made (in some court I assume) sometime around 12-12-05. The next time I spoke to her, in January, she said they were waiting for a decision on the decision ( again, I assume she was talking about an appeal to the decision to pay ALE to all policyholders). Since, I have gotten letters from Allstate stating the same…waiting on a decision. While we all are waiting on a decision, the living expenses that were incurred during and after Rita are costing me money having used my credit card to provide everything my family (my wife, 17-yr. old son and myself) needed. Allstate has been good about covering everything else involved. Any info would be appreciated.
