You’d think a prison guard wouldn’t want to risk having a former prisoner as his new roomate but guess some people think they’re above the law.

“Double-dipping” scams are so-called because the perpetrator, in effect, gets paid twice: once by his new employer for working and again by his previous employer’s insurance company for being too injured to work.

Both Applicant’s attorneys and injured workers must stand up when Insurance companies claim the “double dipping (DD) clause.” if the sum of the so called WC TD payments plus the post injury wages double the pre-injury income then, it is truly DD, otherwise the so called Insurance company and their allied sale-personnel DD claim, they are cryingf wolf in the forest as it is their style after they pocket insurance premiuns. WC insurance companies thrive in investing WC premiuns in supposedly profitable enterprises to multiply the investments and thus support the injured workers so they claim. However this was the good old days. Nowadays, in a global economy environment, the good old WC Insurance tricks they no longer work. WC insurance financial adviser, they need to reinvent thmselves and to come into reality Hall, the the global economy; the new WC Insurer investor breed is not invented yet. However, their mandate is clear: make money maultiply itself in a very competitive world, in a global economy environment. These type of investor are hard to come by and the old WC insurer establishment is intellectually too slow to catch up to global economy reality. Hence, their alibi, they must resort to state lobbying to gain a fragile advantage to respond to a new world economy, a new significant challenge. These breed of Insurance investors/manipulator, it is lacking in the USA and thus they must resort to all kinds of dirty lobbying state games, including the production of state laws that strangle the injured worker so that they can lawfully collect WC premiums to afford their high class living styles. This finacial hiatus will not last long; it will soon blow up in their face despite of all of the Schwarzenegers and other converts that refuse to notice global economy reality; that is the consensus. WC Insurance premiun investment tactics for profitable returns, they must be outsourced to wwworldwide smart investors somewhere else except the USA. The USA Insurance investors bank in political miracles against a worldwide economy that runs on brain power rather than political miracles.

As a retired chief of police and a professor of CJ, an area of education that we provide is management of WC and ADA issues. It is common knowledge that WC fraud among State Correctional Officers and, to a lesser extent, local law enforcement a substantial drain upon state and local budgets. Hopefully, our new WC legislation and focus upon fraud will help this problem.
