Edmond, Okla.-based American Cleaners announced it has become the only Oklahoma member of the Certified Restoration Drycleaning Network, a national organization of drycleaners who specialize in restoring clothing and other fabric items damaged by fires, floods and other disasters.
“Even the smallest fire or flood experience can be harrowing and a major inconvenience for homeowners,” said Rick Murphy of American Cleaners. “Odors, stains and mold can damage clothing, draperies and fabric items throughout the house. By providing our fire and flood damage restoration, we hope to alleviate part of the burden such a traumatic event brings and help get life back to normal.”
American Cleaners said it offers the most advanced technology and processes available for restoring garments and fabric items, even the most difficult types of items—suede, leather garments with sequins, purses, shoes, stuffed animals, intricate draperies, valences and cornice boards. Additionally, items of sentimental value such as wedding dresses and other heirlooms can be restored, removing odor, grime, mildew and soot from garments caused by fires or floods.
“Even though we tackle items that other drycleaners would consider unsalvageable, our recovery rate is the highest in the garment restoration industry. We can save more than 95 percent of the items we clean,” Rick Murphy said.
As the only Oklahoma member of CRDN, American Cleaners works in concert with insurance companies to settle claims efficiently. The company responds to disaster scenes with a 24-hour pickup service that is available seven days a week. A comprehensive inventory of damaged clothing and fabric articles is compiled, and the items are then cleaned and stored until the homeowner is ready for them to be returned to the original location.
