Oklahoma City Man Sunk in Watercraft Scam

An Oklahoma City man has been charged in Oklahoma County District Court with 10 felony counts of violating the Oklahoma Consumer Protection Act, Attorney General Drew Edmondson said.

William Gregory Wilson, 35, was the general manager and a salesman for Deep Fork Marine Inc., also known as Deep Fork Service Inc., of Arcadia, when he allegedly took money from 10 consumers for various watercraft but then failed to either provide the boats or refund the money.

“Mr. Wilson was in the business of selling boats for and to other people,” Edmondson said. “We allege he took consumers’ money and, in some cases, boats he was given as trade-ins, and then failed to provide the purchased boats.”

According to the state’s complaint, Wilson allegedly defrauded 10 Oklahoma consumers of more than $111,800 in money and trade-in merchandise that was never returned to its owners.

Wilson was charged after an investigation by the attorney general’s Consumer Protection Unit.
