La. State Police Make Insurance Fraud Arrests

The Louisiana State Police Insurance Fraud Unit reported that it recently closed a month-long investigation with the arrests of three Concordia Parish individuals.

Michell Warren, 34, of Vidalia, Milton Cupstid, 58, of Ferriday and Fred Taylor, 37, of Vidalia were all arrested and charged with one count each of LRS 22:1243 – Insurance Fraud.

The three individuals allegedly conspired together and staged a crash which involved submerging a vehicle, owned by Cupstid, into Old River.

All three individuals were arrested without incident and booked into the Concordia Parish jail.

The Insurance Fraud Unit is responsible for investigating referrals of suspected fraudulent insurance acts; assisting federal and local law enforcement in the investigation of fraudulent insurance acts; cooperating with local prosecutors and the attorney general’s office in the prosecution of fraudulent insurance acts; and promoting awareness of insurance fraud throughout the state.
