The Workers’ Health and Safety Division of the Texas Workers’ Compensation Commission will present a one-day educational seminar on OSHA Record Keeping and Training, on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The seminar will take place at La Posada Hotel Suites, Phillip V Room, 1000 Zaragoza Street, Laredo. The cost is $90 per person.

According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), record keeping is the most frequently cited violation for businesses. This seminar is designed to assist business owners, human resource managers, and health and safety managers in understanding the OSHA record keeping system. Participants will also learn to understand the OSHA record keeping requirements for OSHA Forms 300, 300A, and 301.

Many researchers have reportedly concluded that employees who are new on the job have a higher rate of accidents and injuries than more experienced workers.

Therefore, OSHA requires employers to provide training to protect their employees from injuries and illnesses.
