MASA Acquires Arkansas Auto Salvage Pool

Midway Auto Salvage Auctions (MASA), an independent salvage auto auction company with facilities in Grenada and Jackson, Mississippi, announced completion of its acquisition of Arkansas Auto Salvage Pool Inc. located in North Little Rock, the state’s most heavily populated region. This represents the company’s second expansion in just four months.

The Arkansas company, founded in 1961, was purchased in 1979 by proprietors Jerry and Brenda Tolliver. “This purchase benefits all parties involved: the Tollivers, MASA, and the customer base, which will retain the advantage of working with an independent auction in this market,” said Barry Eggers, founder and president of MASA. “We are especially grateful that Jerry and Brenda have agreed to stay on board to help us complete a smooth transition before taking their well-earned retirement.”

David Burnett, MASA general manager, added, “This new Little Rock facility represents a strategic expansion of our zone of operations, allowing us the opportunity to work with new clients and to provide all our customers cost-effective statewide coverage in both Mississippi and Arkansas.”

Plans include the conversion of sale method from sealed bid to live auction and the introduction of new technology. MASA’s proprietary software provides a comprehensive operating system including online assignments and reporting, imaging, and interactive online bidding.

In addition, MASA will bring its signature vehicle marketing services to the new Little Rock branch, including its popular firsthand condition reports for distant and online buyers in need of “eyes on the ground” for vehicle inspection.
