If 50% of the people in Texas make over $75,000 per year that do not have health coverage it not because they can not afford it. They need to change their lifestyle, dump the Mercedez, the $250,000 house, the Country Club membership, eat in not out every night and it won’t be long befor they have the $500 per month necessary to purchase health insurance. I have many clients that wish they made $75,000 a year that have individualpolicies or belong to part of a group. And in my opinion, it is not that they can’t afford it, they have made other choices.

Just because you make $75K or more a year doesn’t mean that it all goes into your pocket. The cost of doing business is expensive as is raising children and college expenses. People who are self employed can’t afford medical premiums. What is a parent supposed to do when they find out there child has heart problems but they are “over-income” for state and hospital assistance?

why does everyone want the employer to bear the brunt of the cost of ins. why not lower the health professionals who charge so much insurance goes up. why mandate all of the different coverages. why not allow the old per day plans that we had for years. tell people to not demand so much. there are individual plans available in other states. texas is no longer an independent nation it needs to bring its laws into line with other states and not demand a unique plan to run the costs up.
